Welcome to UNLESA Bangkok!
The Bangkok
LESA group meets monthly to welcome new members and to provide an update on the activities undertaken in the last month. Various issues are discussed and experiences shared on issues around life in Bangkok, including work permits for spouses and policies and procedures followed by different agencies. In the past, members have expressed a general concern about maintaining a good work-life balance, given the unique set of challenges that living in Bangkok represents. Also discussed are innovative programmes initiated by various agencies, for instance, one which allows partners to work on a pro-bono basis, for development projects as volunteers. The core group has been discussing with
other agencies on the possibility of extending this programme to other agencies. The monthly coffee meeting takes place in the first week of each month. The venue has recently been shifted from the UN compound to Dean & Deluca, a coffee shop near the Ploenchit BTS station. Please register to receive updates and schedules of the group meetings, social events, vacancy announcements and other interesting developments.
